So yes, thank goodness, finally, all the paperwork is signed and I can tell you that YES IN FACT, YES ACTUALLY Alec is going to be
So in fact the gossip sites got it right but at the time there was no signed paperwork and he wasn’t actually cast yet so — there wasn’t…
With my position I hardly ever get a weekend off or even a single weekend day, never really more then one a month. This month I had a full weekend off and lucky me, I get a second Saturday; of course I have to work on Sunday but Sundays are shorter days and typically slower. Since I actually have off, I’ll be taking a ride (not much of one, 20 minutes maybe) to Skylands Manor to get some new pictures up there. There should be new flowers blooming plus its been a little while since I’ve been up there. I may even go to Ringwood Manor, which is right down the road from Skylands.
And later, I’ll finally get to see Batman: The Dark Knight Rises which I’m extremely excited for.
You can expect to see some new photos here and on my Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/JennaLeighPhoto
Everyone has that one place they always return to, when you want to go somewhere but don’t know where you end up at that place. Skylands Manor at the NJ Botanical Gardens in Ringwood State Park is my fall back, I’ve been there more times then I can count and I still haven’t finished photographing the grounds. There are tons of gardens with different flowers blooming in each season or even each month. It’s fairly easy to get to also.
Getting on from Route 23: Take 287 NORTH to EXIT 55 Wanaque/Pompton Lakes, turn RIGHT at the light and stay straight. You will drive down Ringwood Ave for about 7 miles. Turn RIGHT onto Sloatsburg Road (it comes up after a rather tight bend). On Sloatsburg Road you will drive another 2 miles then turn RIGHT down Morris Road, taking it to the end.
I highly recommend taking a trip between mid October and early November to see the fall colors. Also make a trip to the gardens in April to see the Cherry Blossoms and again in late May to early June to walk the Lilac garden.

I had started to post a photo each day, missing a couple. I was doing pretty well until I apparently lost interest in it. I am determined to go a complete year posting EVERY day. It seems pointless to continue this right now but come January 1st, 2013 I will be posting updates everyday at least one of which will be a photo of the day. I’ve never been good at keeping up with anything like this but I’m changing that.
I’ve been searching online in an attempt to new places to go and photograph in my area but I haven’t had much success. So, after failing in my search I decided to post different place in New Jersey I’ve already been to and as I go to them.
I’m always interested in finding places with older building with interesting architectural designs. A favorite of mine is Graystone Park Psychiatric Hospital in the Morris Plains area just off of Route 10, EASY to get to.
Getting on from RT 23: Take 287 SOUTH to EXIT 41B 80 WEST toward Del. Water Gap. Take EXIT 41A, Cherry Hill Road, to exit off or 80. Cherry Hill Road will turn into 202, stay on 202/Littleton Road. At the end of 202/Littleton Road will be a NJ Transit Bus station, bare LEFT onto Speedwell Ave. Turn RIGHT on to West Hanover Ave. (there will be a traffic light and a church on the corner across the street on the right). Turn RIGHT onto Stiles Ave. (There will be a Quick Check on the corner on the left side of the road and also another traffic light at this turn). Turn LEFT onto Central Ave. (will be the third left). Shortly after turning onto Central Ave. there will be a fork in the road, stay to the LEFT and drive straight.
Take in the overwhelming beauty and acknowledge the history you see as you drive toward this enormous abandon building. Take care in walking around, it is patrolled buy the local police and there ARE no trespassing signs up EVERYWHERE! If you can find away to get a permit (I have no information on this) that states that you are allowed to walk the grounds DO IT! I was recently asked to leave by a police officer because I had no permission to be there. He claimed the building was falling apart, but there was no true evidence of that from what I could see. DO NOT MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO GO INSIDE! The interior of the building is in fact in poor condition.
Regardless, you can get GREAT pictures of just the front of the building and that’s really the most impressive part. There are a couple of singular buildings still standing that you should have no problems going near. If you want to decrease your chances of a run in with the police park you car by the recreation fields you pass on the way in and walk up. When exploring the grounds go to the left side of the main building, the right side run alone a frequently used road and anyone passing by can see you and inform the police. I’ve been here a total of four times and have only had a problem once.

Enjoy and happy photographing!
